What If... Episode 3 (Review)


What If... The World Lost It's Mightiest Heroes?

Warning: Spoiler Alerts Ahead

Nick Fury is recruiting The Avengers, just like history foretold. Nick Fury first tries to recruit Tony Stark, during the process Black Widow shoots him with Lithium Dioxide to knock Stark out. Something goes terribly wrong and Tony Stark dies. Black Widow is court-marital for Tony Stark's death, but Nick Fury knows something now right. The follow day Thor comes down to retrieve Mjollnir and to restore his honor.


While Thor tries to take Mjollnir, Clint Barton (Hawkeye) watches him with bow and arrow ready. Thunder strikes, an arrow fall into the chest of Thor. Barton is stunned to find out he has killed Thor. Clint Barton is thrown into the brig, when Nick Fury goes to talk to him. Fury finds out Clint Barton is dead. With no one enter Barton's cell, Fury become more suspicious about his Avenger's dying. While on route Black Widow escapes capture and tracks down Betty Ross to help her investigate the death of Tony Stark.


During this time, Nick Fury comes face to face with Loki and The Einherjar (Asgardian Army). Loki wants his brother's killer and will destroy Earth, if Fury doesn't comply. Black Widow finds Bruce Banner hiding in Betty's office, Banner trying to stay of Thunderbolt Ross' radar. Banner and Black Widow are cornered by Ross, Banner is shot without Ross' orders. Banner turns into the Hulk and goes on a rampage. But something goes wrong, Hulk gets bigger, and bigger until he explodes.


With Banner dead, Black Widow investigates members of S.H.I.E.L.D. and figures out who the killer is. Fury receive her message but it's to late, Black Widow has been killed. Now that Nick Fury knows who the killer is, he makes a pack with Loki. Hank Penn reveals himself, Penn blames Fury for the death of his daughter (Hope Penn). Hank killed The Avengers to makes Fury suffer, Loki captures Hank Penn and takes him to Asgard. Nick Fury calls upon his last two Avengers, Captain America and Captain Marvel.
