New Doctor Who Teaser

BBC has released a new official teaser for the upcoming new season of Doctor Who premiering August 23rd at 8PM EST in the U.S.  What is interesting is a particular question that Peter Capaldi as the Doctor is asking presumably Clara Oswald..."Tell me, am I a good man?".  Clara seems to declare she "Doesn't know who the Doctor is anymore".  What is the implications being asked by the Doctor?  Are we looking at a darker, grittier season of Doctor Who with an older regeneration of the Time Lord?  Watch the trailer and come to your own conclusions.

Speculation on the Transformers 4 Robot Villains

I have put a LOT of thought into this, and I am speculating on what the robot villains of Transformers - Age of Extinction may be.  As a fan of the franchise, and as I have grown up watching the original cartoon series, and the theatrical movie from 1988, I have a strong feeling about this that I may end up being right.

A Predator Reboot

This doesn't appear to be a "rumor" at all!  From the way The Hollywood Reporter is talking, 20th Century Fox is pushing forward with a reboot to the original "Predator" film.  No date has been set just yet, as a treatment is still being worked on.

Star Wars Trailer - Guardians of the Galaxy Style

Come on, you know you want to watch it.  The Unusual Suspect put this together...and admittedly, I want to go watch the original trilogy right now!

New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer

Check it out!  There is a brand new trailer out now for the TMNT film to be released August 8th.  This new trailer includes a great look at all four Turtles, Splinter, and Shredder.  The Shredder's armor looks very "robotic/exoskeletal" in this film, but there is a tidbit about how "the new armor", so I think what we see in the action sequence is more of an upgrade, rather than the initial look...something saved for the end of the film.

Regardless, the overall action in this trailer leads one to believe that this is going to "try" to be kid friendly, but aimed at nostalgic adults.

Star Woes - Harrison Ford's Broken Leg

So, as it is pretty much "old news" now, we all know Harrison Ford broke his leg while shooting a scene and a door fell on him.  Original reports weren't certain the extent of the injury, or the amount of time he would have to miss.  Now we know details that say he will be out of action for up to six months.

Mos Eisley Cheers

Gotta love the Cheers know that happy go lucky song about a bunch of drunks getting together at their favorite pub?  Well, what about Mos Eisley?  Sure, it may be a rough and tumble kind of place, where one could lose an arm from ticking off an old hermit, but still!  It was a place to go and get a few drinks with good friends.

TMNT Renewed For Fourth Season

Nickelodeon has announced that they are renewing the lucrative Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series for a fourth season airing Fall 2015.  As we all know, Season 3 will kick off this coming fall of 2014.  So seeing that Nickelodeon is already anticipating a huge continued following, I am excited.

Resident Evil 6 has a Title

It sounds like Paul W. S. Anderson has decided on a (working) title for the sixth Resident Evil film.  From the sound of it, it is also a statement of how this franchise will stand from this point on.  The title will be "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter".

Scooby Doo Reboot?

It would appear that Warner Bros. is looking into bringing the Scooby Gang back to the big screen with a new live action Scooby Doo film.  This doesn't sound to be a sequel to the 2004 Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed film, but rather a completely new reboot of the franchise.

No word on anything beyond consideration for the reboot.  There is nothing on actors, or a director, at this time.

Ron Perlman Pushing for Hellboy 3

If you are a Hellboy fan...regardless of the comics, or the are more than likely hoping for a third film in the franchise starring Ron Perlman.  Well, you are not alone my friend.  Ron Perlman is pushing for a green light on the Hellboy 3 production.  Don't get too excited though.  It probably won't get greenlit.

Peggle is One The House

Peggle, a fun little game where you try to eliminate a set number of colored orbs with a limited supple of balls is the "On the House" game through Electronic Arts' Origin community.  Normally the title runs you $4.99 for PC, but for at least the next couple of weeks, it is flat out free.  Well worth the game time, as well.

Danger Mouse is Coming Back

It appears that the BBC is announcing the return of the classic cartoon series, Danger Mouse!  If you are in the dark here, you obviously didn't grow up on Nickelodeon as a child in the 80's and 90's.  Danger Mouse ran from 1981 to 1992.   Danger Mouse was voiced by Sir David Jason.

Fremantle Media along with Boulder Media will be taking the helm over the production of the new series.  Rick Glanker of Fremantle Media said,
"The thrills, spills and comedy of this landmark international animated series are all still here but this rebooted version will be brought up-to-date for today's tech-savvy and content-hungry kids.
In this new 21st-Century version the laughs are set to be even louder as the world's smallest secret agent faces mightier missions, voracious villains and knee-trembling threats."
As one that grew up on the franchise, I am looking forward to seeing this franchise modernized, and brought back to life!

This video came out back in December of 2013, but it is still an incredible video.  John Smith is a VFX artist, and is an amazingly talented individual.  His work on his Doctor Who pieces are fantastic.  You should really check out his YouTube channel for his work, along with "behind the scenes" videos showing how he did a couple of his homages.

Metal Gear Remake

Over at ModDB, the "Outer Heaven" team has posted information regarding their remake of the 1987 Konami title, Metal Gear.  What makes this cool is not just the fact that they are bringing this classic into the modern age with the Alien Swarm engine, but that Konami actually gave them a solid "O.K." to complete the title.  The caveat?  They can NOT make any money off of this game.  So, I would say we should all expect a free Metal Gear game in the near future!
