Keith the Critic Movie Reviews - Kingsman: The Golden Circle
When it comes to covert operations...we don't do very well. However, Keith the Critic not-so-covertly has a reviewed "Kingsman: The Golden Circle".
This second edition again stars Taron Egerton as Eggsy whose girlfriend is the princess of Sweden. On his way home one day he encounters a former Kingsman trainee named Charlie (Edward Holcroft) who attacks Eggsy or Galahad as he is now known. Charlie has a cybernetic arm and voice box and is able to hack into the car's computer. He is now working for a drug cartel led by Poppy Adams (Julianne Moore) living in the Golden Circle, her underground headquarters.
When Poppy has the Kingsman's offices destroyed, Eggsy and Merlin (Mark Strong), who is the only other surviving agent, turn to their American counterparts in Kentucky. The statesman, as the American's are called, are led by Champagne (Jeff Bridges) and lead agent Tequila who is played by Channing Tatum. Halle Berry plays Ginger Ale who is one of their analysts. They must all work together to stop Poppy whose new drugs are threatening the world.
The first Kingsman movie was great but this one wasn't quite as good. As is often the case, they should have stopped after one. The acting by Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Jeff Bridges, and Channing Tatum was OK but I don't think Halle Berry can act so that didn't help. The script and directing were lacking as well.
Sadly I can only give this movie 2 out of 4 stars.
