Keith the Critic Movie Reviews - American Assassin
When it comes to movie reviews, Keith the Critic kills it. Speaking of which, here is his review of "American Assassin".
Mitch Rapp, who is played by Dylan O'Brien, is on top of the world. His girlfriend has just agreed to marry him while they are at the beach on vacation. When he goes to get them celebratory drinks, terrorists arrive and begin shooting everyone in sight killing his new fiancé.
Mitch can now only think of revenge and begins training to avenge her death. He infiltrates the terrorist's cell, but before he can attack, U.S. Special Forces arrive and kill them all angering Mitch. When the CIA director recruits him, he is hesitant but agrees to join the Black Ops Team. He is to train with former Navy seal Stan Hurley, who is played by Michael Keaton. Hurley is tough but Mitch is determined and learns quickly. He is soon thrown into a job where he must stop the "Ghost" who has stolen plutonium. The Ghost is a former CIA trainee who also was trained by Stan.
Michael Keaton is good in any role and didn't disappoint here. I loved the relationship that developed between his character and the role played by Dylan O'Brien. The script and directing were OK but this movie was only successful because of the actors. It was filmed in many global locations which helped.
I gave this movie 3 out of 4 stars.
